I'm stayin with my family in Baton Rouge La. right now.(Ed is visiting his family in S. Carolina, then flying to England on the 24th to find a place for us) It is always hot here, but now there is a crazy heat wave going on. Yesterday, it hit 100f, and that's with humidity. So I'm getting stir crazy, but every time I venture outside, I feel like passing out after 2 minutes. I'm supposed to fly out on June 29, but I got an email from the British Consulate, who gives out the settlement visas. It said that they just opened it, as this is a busy time of year for them, and settlemnt visas can take up to 40-45 days, which means I may be here till AUGUST! Wish me luck folks!

I guess I'm more kinky than I thought I am.

Your result for The Kink Spectrum Analysis Test...

Blue (450 nm)

Wow! You have quite a big repertoire when it comes to kinky sex. And you're probably also willing to play on either side of the fence. You should look for another Blue, or an Ultraviolet if you want to broaden your horizon. Greens may be okay as well but will probably bore you after a while. Reds are too vanilla for you.

But I promised you a more detailed analysis, so here it is. Note that most scales are twofold: There are separate values for giving (active) and receiving (passive). If you scored high on one of them, you should look for a partner who scored high on the other. If you scored high on both of them, go for someone who is similar (or for multiple partners if you're into that). If you scored low on both, this probably is not your kind of kink.

You scored 68% giving and 46% receiving on oral.

You scored 78% giving and 80% receiving on anal.

You scored 23% giving and 36% receiving on bondage.

You scored 37% giving and 33% receiving on humiliation.

You scored 17% giving and 20% receiving on pain.

You scored 36% dominance and 28% submission.

You scored 71% voyeurism and 69% exhibitionism.

Besides that, you're 25% into fetishism and 80% polysexual (i.e. interested in sex with multiple partners, whether at the same time or not). You'll probably want a partner who is similar, whether you scored high or low in these categories.

Finally, you scored 46% on autoerotic - a scale that measures your ability and/or willingness to have kinky fun without a partner. It's not exactly a matching criterion, but it's good for you if your score is high. Keep it up!

Take The Kink Spectrum Analysis Test at HelloQuizzy

Controversial Question Meme- with added questions!

I added some more questions at the end. For those of you who have already posted this, feel free to answer the extra ones in the comments.

Would you do meth if it was legalized?
Nope. Health aside, if fucks up your looks big time!

-Abortion: for or against?
For. Of course I believe preventative birth control should be practiced first, but really, while it's in the body, a fetus is still just a clump of cells, not a baby.

-Would our country fall with a woman president?
Due to her being a woman alone, no.

-Do you believe in the death penalty?
In some cases, yes. I do think the way it's practiced currently in this country is problematic, as it is handed down very unevenly among race and gender lines, but in many cases, I believe it's warranted. There's no reason Charles Manson should still be alive.

-Do you wish marijuana would be legalized already?
I wouldn't use it myself, but I don't think prohibitive laws work.

-Do you believe in God?
Lots of them.

-Do you think same sex marriage should be legalized?
Yes.

-Do you think its wrong that so many Hispanics are moving to the USA?
No more so than immigrants from any other country, as long as they are wiling to go by U.S. laws.

-A 12 year old girl has a baby..should she keep it?
Nope. Some might say it should be her decision, but if we say a 12 year old can't vote, drink, join the military, or decide to have sex in the first place, that argument doesn't hold.

-The alcohol age be lowered to 18?
Yes. An adult is an adult.

-Should the war in Iraq be called off?
Yesterday.

-Assisted suicide is illegal..do you agree that it should be?
No. In fact, if an adult wants to kill themselves, they should be allowed to.

-Do you believe in spanking your children?
My imaginary children? I won't say you can't, but if it's come to your kid needing to be hit to get them to chill, you've already screwed the parenting pooch.

-Would you burn an American flag for a million dollars?
Of fucking course! A million dollars?! Please!

-A mother is declared innocent after murdering her 5 children in a temporary insanity case...what do you think?
I would need to hear the specifics of the case. However, going back to question 4, a woman who kills her 5 kids would be FAR less likely to get the death penalty that a dad who kills his 5 kids. I think that's bullshit.

-It's between you and a person who is being kept alive by life support machines..one has to die? Who?
Me. I wouldn't want to be kept alive by machines if I couldn't eventually be off them.

Here's my bonus questions:

-Do you believe people who are HIV positive should be allowed to have sex with people who are HIV negative?
Consenting adults should be able to do what ever they want to do to each other. However, if all those who are HIV+ decided "Hey, I'm only going to do it with other poz people.", well, it seems to me that many lives might eventually be saved. I think they should be able to, but I don't think they should.

-Do you think that the gay community is ill served by the presence of drag queens, leathermen, etc. in Gay Pride celebrations, especially as covered by mainstream media?

I admit, sometimes I'm a bit bewildred by the fusing of sexual fetishes with public persona. For instance, I like Yoko Ono and I like getting spanked. Still, I can't see me on a parade float getting my ass whacked to the beat of "Walking On Thin Ice" (even if it was the Danny Tenaglia remix). You don't see leather contingents is other parades (St Patricks Day, Veteran's, 4th of July, etc). Ultimately though, I don't agree with guys who say that only "regular" looking gays should be in these parades so the straights don't get freaked out at home watching TV. I don't think the idea of trying to get tolerance from mainstream society by saying "Us gays are not so different form you!" is a good tactic. Of course we're different. But that's what tolerance means, is living with something you may be uncomfortable with. My dream is to see a gay pride parade with no specific contingents, but everyone, drag queens, leathermen, gay republicans, butch dykes, lipstick lesbians, parents with strollers, all marching in one big group together, celebrating each other as well as themselves.

-Do you believe people who practice S&M are emotionally healthy?
Again, I will fight for the rights of consenting adults to do what they want. Still, I find my self a bit conflicted about this one. On one hand, I think they are healthier than many, as they communicate their desires better than most, and I can appreciate the whole "endorphine" thing, exploring power roles, yada yada yada (see above question). However, I think someone who can't get off unless someone is shitting on them has some emotional problems, and needs therapy.

Do you believe prostitution should be legal?
Yes, but I don't believe that the State should be able to hold back unemployment benefits if you don't want to do it.

-Are you afraid others will judge you from reading some of your answer?
Some may disagree with me, but as long as we can agree to disagree, and treat each other with respect, all's good.

My hubby Ed finally got his birth time frim his mom, so I checked out his birth chart. For those who know Ed, this should come as no suprise. See it after the cut...

Name: Ed

Rising Sign is in 08 Degrees Aries
You are a free spirit and you must be first at everything you do. Very energetic, self-assertive and active, things must be done your way. Even though you may feel calm and serene on the inside, you certainly do not act that way. You want to do everything full-tilt, 100 miles per hour! A great competitor, but a poor cooperator -- you must learn how to lose more gracefully. Very self-confident, ambitious and passionate, you radiate positive energy. You are blunt and direct, but at times unfeeling and tactless, especially if anyone offers you any resistance. You fight for your beliefs, but your tendency to act first and think later often causes you much grief.

Sun is in 12 Degrees Leo.
More than a bit of a showoff, you love to be the center of attention! But others do not usually mind because they tend to enjoy your genuine warmth and affection. Very spirited and willful, proud and self-important at times, you demand your own way. You are quite honest, however, and the respect of others is very important to you. You never compromise yourself and you pursue your goals with persistence and dedication. Your regal presence and demeanor draws you to positions of leadership and authority. But beware of being overly hardheaded, domineering, ostentatious or patronizing or you will lose the goodwill and admiration that you enjoy. Very theatrical, you live life on a grand scale wherever and whenever possible. Your strength and energy vitalizes those who come in contact with you.

Moon is in 09 Degrees Leo.
You always want to be proud of yourself and will never do anything that will make yourself look bad. You need the respect and admiration of others and enjoy attracting attention to yourself. Everything you do tends to be self-emphasized and self-exaggerated. Very stubborn, willful and independent yourself, be sure to allow others who are close to you the similar right to "be themselves." Your need for love, affection and reassurance, and your tendency toward vanity, allow you to have your head easily turned by flattery. The more insecure you are, the more you tend to be a showoff. You love games and sports as a matter of fact, you would usually rather play than work. Be careful of a tendency to be snobbish and uppity -- it does not become you.

Mercury is in 25 Degrees Cancer.
Your emotions tend to rule your thought processes. You have difficulty seeing life objectively. You have an excellent memory, especially about things to which you have formed an emotional bond. You prefer ideas and thoughts that are known and familiar, and therefore tend to dislike fads or radical ideas. The beliefs and traditions of your family and culture are very important to you. Your thinking becomes quite unclear when you are emotionally shaken -- try not to make major decisions when you are upset. Let things calm down first.

Venus is in 13 Degrees Virgo.
You express your love and affection through selfless service to people or causes. You have a tendency to underestimate yourself and doubt your self-worth. This is very demeaning and should be avoided -- learn to love yourself as well as you do others. Your standards of perfection are very high -- you are attracted to relationships based on duty and responsibility. You are supercritical of yourself and others and, at times, prefer to be alone rather than deal with any imperfections in yourself or in those with whom you might relate.

Mars is in 08 Degrees Scorpio.
Your likes and dislikes are strong and intense, never casual or superficial. You are known for your persistence and willful obsession. Once you have decided on a course of action, you are unstoppable. Your emotional actions tend to be extreme, although you try to keep them muted. You are not quick to anger, you do slow burns. And you tend to release your anger as sarcasm or irony. Beware of your tendency to hold grudges and to be vengeful. When you do fight, or release your internal tensions, you do so body and soul -- you become totally passionate and your outbursts are awesome to behold.

Jupiter is in 14 Degrees Leo.
You must be proud of all that you do in order to grow and develop. You enjoy being totally honest and aboveboard and you revel in the admiration and respect you receive from others due to your high- minded, upright way of life. Make sure, though, that your natural tendency to boast and show off is based on your actual accomplishments. Don't fall prey to self-exaggeration or arrogance. You truly do like outrageous spectacles and grand jolly times and will go out of your way to make them a reality.

Saturn is in 12 Degrees Aries.
You are aloof, independent and standoffish. This is mainly due to your fear that others might inhibit or restrict you and, quite frankly, you feel that you can govern your life by your own standards. Be careful not to associate with those who are overly critical of you or you will withdraw so deeply into your shell that you will become very lonely. You have the ability to stand on your own two feet and to make up your own mind -- albeit very carefully and cautiously. But you are known for your circumspection and therefore are respected and admired.

Uranus is in 22 Degrees Virgo.
You, and all your peers, will be known for the degree of intensity with which you dislike normal everyday routines and chores. You will go out of your way to invent innovative, unique and timesaving ways to perform the various mundane routines and duties of living. You will be attracted to all manner of practical and useful gadgets -- anything that will make your daily life more exciting.

Neptune is in 21 Degrees Scorpio.
You, and your entire generation, are extremely interested in anything deep and mysterious. You will explore and idealize the benefits that can accrue from the study of the occult, healing and psychology. You are willing to experiment with substances like drugs in order to push your understanding of your inner being to the extreme.

Pluto is in 19 Degrees Virgo.
For your entire generation, this will be a time when profound changes in society's attitude toward work, duty and responsibility will be initiated. Radical changes in attitudes toward personal health and general nutrition will be promulgated and gain wide acceptance and practice.

N. Node is in 01 Degrees Taurus.
It's not in your nature to seek out many casual acquaintances in your daily round of activities. You feel much more comfortable with a small, close-knit group of people -- those with whom you can relax and work toward known and clearly defined goals. Your loyalty to a person or group, once given, is forever -- you'll expend all of your quite considerable energy in seeing that the group stays together and prospers. You choose your partners and relationships so carefully that you're bound to gain certain advantages from them, including those of a material nature. Be careful though not to let mere self-service be your motivation in establishing your connections -- make sure that there's an even give-and-take!

For the third time this year, I got really sick this week. Before the beginning of the year, I hadn't been really sick in quite a long time. I started to worry that there might be a bigger health issue going on, but the thing is, each time I've been sick, it's been very different. The first time, stomach flu, lots of vomiting and, um, other stuff. Next, bad head and chest cold, lots of mucus, stuffed up, etc. This week, I'm not sure what it was, maybe some kind of flu. It started Monday night. I worked out. I was feeling great. I even did a goofy white boy dance when "Around The World" by Daft Punk came on my Ipod. A couple of hours later, it kicked in. There was no sneezing, but I had terrible, all over body aches, a dry cough, chills, and I felt so incredibly weak. Today is the first day that I've felt just under the weather and not sick.

As for the possible causes, my body has been put through some changes this year. I've been on a pretty restrictive diet, lean proteins and some vegetables. I've lost about 20 pounds since the start of the year. Diana bought up a good point. She said a lot of stuff gets stored in your fat cells, including toxins. As I've lost a good bit a weight in a short period of time, a lot of stuff that has been in my body for a while has been released into my system. I just hope that this is the last of it!

When I opened the store today, the building owner was here. He was there with someone who was a building inspector, and 2 older guys looking around at the building. The owner inherited this place from someone. His job is housing architecture. I asked him how he was doing, and he said something along the lines of how his business is hurting. I guess it's do to the housing market crapping out right now. He didn't say why he was there, or what was going on, even as the inspector was in our store checking things out. I'm now worried that he wants to sell the building. That's been happening alot in this area over the last few years. Older buildings getting bought, and the new owners triple the rent, thereby forcing the previous tenants out. It may be something else entirely, but it leaves me worried.

UPDATE: I talked to another tenant. The landlord said he was looking onto expanding the building, which is a lot better. whew!

This entry contains intimate details about my sex life. Turn away now if you don’t want to hear about it. If you do,

My husband Ed left yesterday on a business trip that will have him in South Carolina for all of February, and if it's successful, some of March as well. The sexual frustration will be setting in soon, as I married the only gay pagan monogamist in North America. I'm not poly-amorous, as I would not want Ed nor I to have another romantic relationship, but I wouldn't have a problem with a strictly sexual open relationship. Ed is NOT down with that. (Ed- Leo Sun, Aries Rising, Leo Moon. Not a sharer!) The only exception is multi-partner sex if we are both present. No side solo projects. (No “Belladonna” for Alex!) I admit, I find it a bit weirdly 1950sish. Still, I totally love that dude, and he does keep me sexually satisfied (he is amazing in bed, and while he is versatile, he's a phenomenal top. Looking at the profiles in Pagan Men for Men, that seems like a rare skill!). I’m taking this time as an opportunity to work on my spiritual practice more as well as continue to get myself in better shape. Everybody out there, if you could, send a little energy to Ed for a safe and prosperous trip. Thanks!

At the beginning of the year, I kind of resolved to start eating better. I realized that I've been gaining an average of 10 pounds a year for the last 6 or so years. I can't button the top button of the pants I got 2 years ago, which I bought because I got too fat to button the top button of those previous pants. So I thought, I'm going to start eating smaller meals more often. I've gotten in the habit of eating 2 very large meals a day, which has made my metabolism plummet. For a while, no starches or carbs, just lean protien and veg. As if to help out, I got a hell of a stomach flu last week, and couldn't eat for a few days. When I got better, it was easy to eat just a small meal. Since all this, I've already lost 9 pounds. Funny how the universe helps you when you need it. Wish me luck!
